Memoir Workshops – Spring 2025
From January to June of 2025, Sue will be offering 3 separate memoir workshops of 6 weeks each to discover, or to deepen memoir material.
These workshops are ideal for those who are ready to begin to explore their memories in writing. The workshops will also be useful for those who want to deepen a memoir they’re already working on.
Starting January 6, 2025: Snapshots: Using Family (and other) Photos to Explore Memoir. In this six week workshop we will be exploring various techniques to coax family photographs (as well as other photos) to give up their secrets and show us what we didn’t know we knew.
Starting March 3, 2025: The Geography of Childhood (and beyond) In this six week workshop we will remember and explore the specific places from our earlier lives to understand the significance and meaning they held and still hold for us.
Starting April 14, 2025: The Unbearable Persistence of Things Starting April 14. In this six week workshop we will be using objects with personal history as the starting place to explore material from our lives and the lives of those we have loved.
All workshops will be held in the AWA method and will include generative writing time and generous, strengths-based feedback.
