International Retreats

Our mission at Inkslingers is to deliver writing workshops and retreats that enrich personal experience, strengthen writing skills, and immerse participants in both the writers and landscape of each explored country. Along the journey we build community and keep writers safe in their unique voices. As part of the fulfillment of that mission, Inkslingers offers international writing, yoga and exploration retreats.

We are thrilled to announce that we are in the final stages of organizing our next international writing, yoga and exploration experience.

Save the dates: November 14th to 22nd, 2026

Sue Reynolds has led International retreats for over 10 years. Her co-facilitators James Dewar and Kate Marshall Flaherty are also experienced AWA facilitators and accomplished writers. Inkslingers has developed a three-pronged approach to exploring other countries:

  • Working closely with experienced, professional tour companies, we organize an itinerary that provides an in-depth exploration of the history and landscape of each location.
  • We delve into some of the seminal writers of the countries to both learn about the sensibilities and enjoy the essence of each country’s culture. We also draw upon the works of these authors to inspire participant writing: one author each day. (Don’t worry, there are no tests!)
  • Thirdly, we offer an optional guided restorative yoga practice every morning. Starting the day with a short, body-centered focus limbers up the muscles and establishes a mind-body liaison that contributes to grounded writing during morning workshops right after breakfast.
