Two years or so ago, Sue offered a once-a-month writing workshop called “Inkslingers” that happened in the two hours before James’ poetry show Hot Sauced Words in Toronto.
Eventually that workshop ended, but when it came time to create our new website, we felt we already had our name.
InkSlingers
is our site for letting you know what we’re up to: creative writing, workshops, ideas, editing services, lectures, guest appearances, you name it — if it has to do with inspiring words to spurt, leak, ooze, settle, or somersault onto the page, this is the website where we tell you what we’re doing and invite you to take part.

If you don’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to contact us and make a suggestion – we get tremendous pleasure from watching writers take flight both personally and professionally, and we take even greater pleasure from being instrumental in assisting them to do so.

7-Day Writing Retreats
on Lake Simcoe
Sue and I want to thank the wonderful clan of writer’s who gathered for our first summer retreat at the Loretto Maryholme Centre for 7 wonderful days (July 4th – 10th) of great writing and feedback, gourmet food, long refreshing silences and regular rounds of laughter!
It was so productive and so much fun! The writing and friendships that developed were so inspiring that we’ve already reserved 2 weeks for next year:
