When you sign up for Pyjama Writing, you will be signing up for the whole week. This does not mean that you have to come every day — our lives often interfere with our writing! You will receive the reminder link each morning, but whether you can come or not is up to you.  Also, if you need to come late or leave early, that's also an option with no shame attached!  This is a place for you to connect with your Muse and your writing project(s) as regularly as possible. There are enough places in our lives where we feel badly about not being able to show up for ourselves the way we want to.  This does not have to be one of them. :-)

Writing for resiliency and inter-connection – Write Around the World

May 3, 2021 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm EDT

Sue Reynolds

On Monday May 3rd, I’m doing a writing workshop as part of AWA’s Write Around the World series, from 2:00 to 4:30 pm EDT (Toronto time).

Click here to go to the AWA website to register.

I’m excited to be co-leading with Meadow Jones who I met two years ago in an AWA workshop on writing with veterans and their families. We connected immediately. Maybe you’ll see why when you read her bio:

Dr. Meadow Jones was trained in the AWA method in 2011. She has facilitated arts and writing workshops with diverse populations in both formal and informal education environments. Her work and research focuses on the use of material and artistic practices towards the redress of trauma and social change. Her writings have been published in literary journals, peer reviewed research journals, and poetry anthologies and chapbooks. She is also a practicing studio artist and a novice in a Buddhist temple.

Our focus for this session will be specifically using the AWA method to facilitate resiliency and inter-connection during these times of distress and isolation.

A Write Around the World workshop event allows beginner, emerging and experienced writers to experience a workshop that holds safe and creative space using the Amherst Writers & Artists Method. Read testimonials about the method HERE. Participants will receive in-workshop feedback on the strengths of the pieces generated and of their writer’s voice.

Write Around the World is a once-a-year fundraiser to support the social justice programs offered by AWA.

Registration is by donation – $20, $10, or $5. You can also choose a different amount if
you’d like to make a bigger gift.
